From The Road You Went

Iranian.com
This is an old Persian song I really like. It's by Habib and it's called "From the Road You Went" (Ze raahi ke rafti). I used to listen to it so many times in my childhood in my dad's old cassette player with those old and now extinct cassettes! My dad told me he sang this for his deceased wife. Sad song then. Here are the lyrics of the song in bold font in Persian and my translations in English under each line. Hope you enjoy.

Hamishe negaham be rahet mishineh
My glances will always remain on your way
baram raftane tou tabe aakharine (2)
Your departure is my last fever

Ze raahi ke rafti
From the way you went
kasi bar nagashteh
No one had returned
be raahi keh esmet
To the way that your name
roo sangi neveshteh (2)
Has been written on a piece of stone

baharam tou boodi
You were my spring
tabaram tou boodi
You were my family
ketabe delam ra
The book of my heart
 tou ba gham soroodi
You sang it with sorrow
gonaaham tou boodi
You were my sin
savabam tou boodi
You were my good deeds
be man har cheh daadi
Whatever you gave to me
delam ra roboodi
You stole my heart

Hamishe negaham be rahet mishineh
My glances will always remain on your way
baram raftane tou tabe aakharine (2)
Your departure is my last fever

Ze raahi ke rafti
From the way you went
kasi bar nagashteh
No one had returned
be raahi keh esmet
To the way that your name
roo sangi neveshteh (2)
Has been written on a piece of stone

baharam tou boodi
You were my spring
tabaram tou boodi
You were my family
ketabe delam ra
The book of my heart
 tou ba gham soroodi
You sang it with sorrow
gonaaham tou boodi
You were my sin
savabam tou boodi
You were my good deeds
be man har cheh daadi
Whatever you gave to me
delam ra roboodi
You stole my heart
