Tas Kabab

Photo taken from Hamshahri magazine

I admit I'm not interested in cooking, neither I can cook. But since this Iranian food was so easy to make and it's different from most food we serve with rice, I decided to write about it.

What you need (for 4 people):
  • 2 average quinces
  • 2 big potatoes
  • 5 carrots
  • 300 gr plum
  • 0.5 kg Meat (if you're vegan you can omit it)
  • Water, 2-3 big glasses
  • Salt, pepper, turmeric
  • Oil, 2-3 soup spoons

How to make:
Cut meat in 2*3 cm cubes. Do the same with carrots. Cut quinces in moon shapes. Wash plumes and soak them in water for half and hour.

Pour oil in the pot, put meat in the pot, then plumes and carrots. Pour 2-3 big glasses of water in the pot and add salt, pepper and turmeric. Put the lead on. Let the ingredients cook with low heat.

Now peel potatoes and cut them in cubes as you did with carrots. When you see the meat has been cooked, add potatoes and some tomato condensed juice. Let potatoes be cooked too.

Be careful. If you add potatoes at the beginning, they would be smashed.
Some people use onions in this food too. The choice is yours.
